Shaam under the wings of Angels: Palestine and Syria are lands which are blessed and has been home to some of the greatest people to walk the face of this earth.
However, in recent years we have witnessed unbelievable horrors take place in these lands. From the genocide, witnessed by the whole, in Gaza to the brutal oppression of muslims in Syria.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Blessed is Shaam!’ The companions asked: ‘Why is that?’, The Prophet (ﷺ) replied: “Because the angels of the Most Merciful spread their wings over it.” – (Tirmidhi)
Funds raised from this appeal will go towards our Shaam emergency appeal, helping those struggling in Gaza and those rebuilding their lives in now liberated Syria.
Gaza is a home to 2.1 million people, one of the most densely populated cities on Earth. One-third of Palestinians live below the poverty line, and after nearly 18 years of blockades and attacks, the two million residents of Gaza have been plunged into abject poverty. Majority of the population relies on aid for their survival, with food, medication, water, and electricity supplies at an all-time low.
Innocent children in Gaza are trapped in a cycle of suffering and trauma. They once again live with the horror of airstrikes looming over them.
Many Palestinians and humanitarian organisations continue to describe Gaza as the world’s largest open-air prison, a rigidly controlled strip of land with very little opportunity for movement, escape or growth.
Israeli occupation forces have destroyed tens of thousands of homes, with 4 in 5 people having to flee their homes. Many have been forced to seek shelter in dozens of schools and hospitals. To make matters worse, the healthcare system is on the brink of collapse, due to widespread destruction and damage of hospitals.
Just as our Palestinian brothers & sisters refuse to succumb to Israeli occupation, we must proudly stand in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.
After decades of a brutal regime and civil unrest, our brothers and sisters are still facing immense uncertainty and hardship.
The humanitarian situation in Syria remains critical, with widespread needs and deteriorated infrastructure following 14 years of brutal oppression by the regime. Health systems and education are in disarray, with millions of children out of school and hospitals operating at limited capacity, with nearly 15 million people requiring humanitarian health support.
More than 13 million people are still facing acute food insecurity and more than 7 million remain displaced across the country.
An already dire situation has now become a full-blown humanitarian emergency.
More than 13 years of suffering have left more than 70% of the country’s population in need of humanitarian aid. Many don’t have the money to buy essentials.
In the midst of Genocide and oppression in Shaam, our partner charities have distributed tons of food and much needed essentials to support the people of Gaza and Syria.
We’ve launched a united appeal with Ummah Welfare Trust, One Nation and One Ummah to collectively provide emergency aid and bring some relief to the people of Gaza and Syria.
With your support, Unity Aid will be a lifeline for Palestinian and Syrian families. Please give generously to our Shaam Emergency Appeal now.
The Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وسلم) said “Whoever relieves a Muslim of distress, Allah will relieve him of distress on the Day of Resurrection.” [Bukhari & Muslim]
